Fall 2003

Dear Friend of ChSA,
Once more we would like to thank you for all your prayers and support! It's through them, that our dreams really become true!
End of the summer and the beginning of fall were busy with preparations for ChSA National Students Conference which took place in Warsaw, October 24-26. Here are some reflections written by Sharon Edwins, ChSA-IFES volunteer from Great Britain.

Salt of the Earth and Light of the World
Salt and light. What does it mean to live a life so affected by Christ's love and leadership that 'self' no longer matters most? Challenging isn't it? Making a difference in the world around us. Making people thirst for God as we live life to its' fullest and clearly communicate the truth to those at home, at university, in the work place and in the nations that we do not know, yet. Like it or not, this is the job that Jesus has called us to be involved in. It affords us a great opportunity but poses a great threat to our quiet satisfied lives. Evangelism and missions, a passion to see all people reached with the Good news of Jesus Christ, were the main themes of our national students conference in Warsaw, October 2003.

The conference's main speaker was George Verwer (former director of OM).

Speaking with incredible energy, passion and frankness he connected with the hearts of the Polish students in a powerful way. It was awesome to witness so many students standing and praying "God I am willing, send me".

The conference was full to bursting with great teaching. In the jam packed programme were talks given by Polish pastors based here in Warsaw, a graduate's seminar from Tim Vickers (IFES) and an international students seminar from Jane Pelz (IVF/IFES); just to mention a few. Alongside the excellent teaching, there were also powerful worship times led by a band from Swinojuscie, and a great concert by Mate.O.

It was brilliant to see God working so powerfully in the lives of everyone at the conference. Please pray that they continue grow in faith, and that God's word will continue to work in their hearts. Pray also for George Verwer as he continues his ministry of challenging people to missions and evangelism. Finally join with us in praising God for the wonderful ways in which He answered prayers showing Himself once again utterly faithful and all providing.

Seven summer camps out of which a new energy for evangelism have exploded and new people involved in ChSA ministry.

One new staff worker, Mariusz joined us to work in Wroclaw and Czestochowa

'New Year' camp in the Polish mountains between 28th December and 3rd January, focus: evangelism (each student comes with his non-Christian friend)
